Why Choose Brooks Investment Professionals

An ancient proverb says, “He who fails to plan, plans to fail.”  With the current complexities of investment markets, tax codes, and ever-changing estate planning laws, proper planning can seem overwhelming and very confusing.  In investing and in life, the wisest way to find your path in unchartered territory is to talk to someone who has traveled the path before.

At Brooks Investment Professionals, I have the Experience, Credentials, Independence, and a Fiduciary obligation to best serve our clients.

Fiduciary:

Unlike a typical broker;  as a CFP® and Accredited Investment Fiduciary® I have a legal obligation to work in a "Fiduciary" capacity and act in our clients’ best interest when managing investments and making recommendations.  This is much different than the lesser standard of "Suitability" which your typical stock broker is only required to follow.

We take a consultative approach in our financial planning and investment management and believe in thorough consultation and planning before making any investment recommendations.  We build long-term relationships with ongoing portfolio monitoring unlike some who simply sell products.

Independence:

Through our affiliation with an "Independent" broker dealer and registered investment advisor, United Planners Financial Services, we are able to offer advice based on our clients’ needs, not the need to sell proprietary products of a company we work for which eliminates conflicts of interest inherent when getting advice from a major bank or Wall Street firm who also manufactures their own investment products.

As an office of United Planners, a Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC) member firm, we can leverage more than 25 years of experience and over 7 billion in assets under management.  In addition you can access experienced and knowledgeable back office staff including retirement, insurance, trust, estate, stock market, and fixed income experts.

We also use separate third party custodians Charles Schwab and Pershing LLC, also SIPC member firms, to hold your hard earned money, provide online access, and deliver statements.  This is critical as investors in this post-Bernie Madoff era.

Credentials:

Rayburn earned a B.B.A. in Finance and afterwards completed the Financial Planning Program at OCU Meinders School of Business.  He holds series 7 and 66 Securities Registrations along with Insurance Licenses in the areas of Life, Health, and Disability.  He has earned the professional designation of CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER ™ awarded by the CFP® Board of Standards which is considered by many as the gold standard in our industry.  Individuals certified by the CFP Board of Standards have taken the extra step to demonstrate their professionalism by voluntarily submitting to the rigorous CFP certification process that includes demanding education, examination, experience, and ethical requirements; less than 20% of financial advisors hold the certification.

Experience:

Rayburn has been a financial planner and managed money for over 20 years with experience from a major Wall Street Wire house, UBS Wealth Management, to managing the Investment & Financial Planning Department for the Bank of Nichols Hills. He has been an independent Financial Consultant with Brooks Investment Professionals since founding it in 2006.

Bottom line, we have the experience, credentials, objectivity, and independence needed to successfully help achieve investor’s goals.  We work for our clients not a bank, insurance company, or Wall Street firm and we believe that makes a big difference when seeking objective unbiased counsel.
